Beth, who is used to wowing global audiences with her gymnastics, spoke to the Junior girls about the benefits of gymnastics, wellbeing and nutrition, in addition to talking about her time on the TV show Dancing on Ice, which she won alongside Daniel Whiston in 2013.
The school also welcomed Sue Farndon, the Regional Co-ordinator for Total Gymnastics, who provide recreational gymnastics courses for all different ages and abilities including the Beth Tweddle Gym Stars programme for the under 7s and the Total Gymnastics Academy for those aged 8 and over.Bridget Howard, Head of the Junior School commented, “We were extremely excited to hear that Beth would be able to join us and it was an excellent start to the new term. The Junior girls were in awe of Beth’s successes and really enjoyed the session. It was a fantastic and inspirational session.”
Headmistress, Helen Jeys added, “Beth encouraged the girls to learn from disappointment and the importance of hard work in achieving goals, which fits perfectly with our whole school emphasis on resilience and inspiration. We hope to welcome both Beth and Sue back to the school very soon.”
