Summer Fun For All at the East Lancashire Railway

The East Lancashire Railway will be hosting summer activities on Wednesdays throughout the school holidays. There will be an array of things to do for all the family, including, treasure hunt, craft workshops and opportunities to meet the Railway mascot, Buffers the Station Cat. Goody bags will be given out to all children and will include an exclusive Kids’ Go Free voucher to use during the remainder of the summer holidays. Summer activities will run as part of scheduled service, standard fares apply, on Wednesdays from 23 July – 27 August. Craft Workshops are £1.00 per child with a Full Line Return Ticket.

 
East Lancashire Railway - The TeamEvery Wednesday from 23 July – 27 August the North West’s premier railway will be inviting visitors to join them for a summer of fun with an array of things to see and do included in their standard fares.

Boys and girls will have the opportunity to meet the Railway’s Kids’ Club mascot, Buffers the Station Cat, on Platform 3/4, Bolton Street Station at 10:30am – 11:15am and 12:00pm – 1:00pm as well as receiving a free goody bag including a copy of the latest Railway Kids’ Club newsletter, exclusive Membership Card and Kids’ Go Free voucher to use during the remainder of the summer holidays.

Thinking caps may be required for visitors wanting to join in with the Family Treasure Hunt which involves searching for clues at stations along the scenic twelve mile line to be in with a chance of winning a family ticket to the Railway’s magical Santa Specials.

The Bury Transport Museum will also host themed Craft Workshops from 11:00am – 3:00pm where children can make anything from shadow puppets to their own railway line. The Craft Workshops are £1.00 per child with a Full Line Return Ticket.
