The summer holiday is fast approaching. And although we’ve all been dreaming about foreign holidays, warm beaches, and luxury hotels; the reality of busy airports, rising prices and the hassle of traveling abroad may tip our choices back to staycations. With that comes the usual intense search for local entertainment. But fear not! Our listings of holiday camps and classes offer a lovely selection of fun and safe activities, so your kids won’t get bored easily, and you may even have some time for yourselves.

WGS – Multi Sports
Active multi-sports camp will be run by Withington PE teacher Mrs Lane. Children will take part in a variety of sports such as netball, hockey, lacrosse, tennis, basketball, football and badminton, learning more about the essential skills of these sports, as well as taking part in group games, mini tournaments and other fun fitness activities.
Early drop off from 8.30am and late collection until 4.30pm available (no extra charge).
Children will need to provide:
– Packed lunch, including additional snacks if required (no nut products please)
– Refillable water bottle
– Sun cream
– Suitable clothing (including footwear and sunhats for activities and lunch times)

The Nothern’s Tennis Holiday camps
Mini Tennis and Junior Tennis holiday camps are very popular and a huge amount of fun. The children not only boost their tennis skills, but improve all round fitness, co-ordination and social skills.

Salford Summer Football Camp
Soccer camps for boys and girls of all abilities ages aged 4 – 12. All aspects of the game are covered including; dribbling, passing, shooting and more. Each child will be provided with a football during skill sessions. Kids will play matches & fun games every day.
Activities are run outdoors on the grass field, kids have to wear appropriate clothes.

Summer SciTech: 2025 Camp
An amazing week of hands-on science and technology, exploration and discovery; designed to inspire and engage young minds in the wonders of science for kids 5-14 yrs.
There are five groups, the Mini (aged from 5 to 7) is for the youngest, and the rest are Reds Greens Blues Purples (from 10 to 14), splitted by age. On each day each group will be doing it’s own subject.
Subjects for Summer 2025 are:
– Fire & Ice, to carry out experiments from below freezing and twice the temperature of molten lava in the safety of a SciTech lab,
– Formula 1, to find out what makes F1 cars go, stop and get round corners, and the challenge of a pitstop wheel change.
– Robots, to get introduced to the world of robots and coding in.
– Water, to break water molecules apart with electricity, then put them back together with fire.
– Senses to learn more about human senses, we have more then 5, you know…

Dance and Music

WGS – Dance Dance Dance!
Does yur child want to dance to your favourite music? Dance like no one is watching? Working with Lindy Hop, Jive, Paso Doble, Cha Cha, Tango, Irish Céilí, Jazz, Tap and Step Dancing, Mrs Guest will teach basic techniques and fuse them together to choreograph own unique routines in this three-day whirlwind introduction to a variety of dance genres. Kids will also explore how to incorporate the eight efforts of the Laban technique – float, glide, wring, press, punch, dab, flick, slash – to enhance their performance in a fun workout.

RNCM Young Strings Summer School
Young Strings Summer School gives string players between 6 -13 years a fantastic opportunity to develop their musical, creative and performance skills in a fun and friendly environment.
Daily activities are led by a team of experienced RNCM tutors and include string orchestra, chamber music, Dalcroze Eurhythmics, choir and some creative activities.
The children are grouped according to age and experience and take part in large ensembles, chamber groups, singing, movement and improvisation/ composition activities. There are plenty of different activities throughout the day, and ample opportunities to enjoy break times outside in the garden the Mancheste Hight School for Girls. The week culminates in a concert performance.

Chetham’s Summer School 2025
Enjoy world-class facilities, learn from some of the best music tutors in the world and play with other young musicians who may become friends for life! Each day will be fun and action-packed with workshops and personalised guidance. Experience singing, musicianship and ensemble music-playing, with performances at the professional concert venue, Stoller Hall.

Chetham’s International Piano Summer School 2025 and Junior Piano Courses
CIPSS (Chetham’s International Piano Summer School) brings world class and legendary musicians to a vibrant, supportive community in central Manchester. Housed in the magnificent, safe grounds of the UK’s largest specialist music school, this inspirational annual festival offers unprecedented facilities, including over 130 pianos and practice/ teaching rooms, the magnificent Stoller Hall, en-suite bedrooms and stunning medieval architecture juxtaposed with modern facilities. WGS – Theatre in a Week
Withington’s Mrs Guest and Mr Easton will lead a whole week of theatre and creativity exploring devising methods inviting you to be the author and performer of your own work. Responding to visual stimuli, such as gallery paintings, you will create and write your own performance material. There will be sessions in drama, script work, physical theatre, stage fighting and improvisation techniques encouraging participants to tell stories in inventive ways. This promises to be a week of fun and laughter ending with a short performance to share new skills with family and friends.

Five days of musical theatre with work on different themed musical each day, dance technique (optional choices) and singing masterclasses (optional). Lots of fun for children ages 5 – 14 with a performance on the Friday evening.
