After its resounding success last year, the spooktacular Skellies and Wellies trail returns for October half term 2025, promising to tickle the funny bone.

From 25 October – 2 November (closed on Monday) visitors who like their skeletons ‘decoffinated’ won’t be disappointed as they are greeted by 10 hilarious skeleton displays, each with a letter to collect which spell out a chilling word.

Half term family fun continues at the Farm, with the Pumpkin Patch and Maize Maze, and at an exciting new Halloween-themed workshop at the Old Hall, as well as The Autumn Gift Fair which also promises to delight with its range of unique gifts.

As the leaves blush with vibrant seasonal colour, the Autumn Fair comes to Tatton’s rarely visited Tenants Hall showcasing a selection of independent, handmade and artisan stalls filled with jewellery, art prints, ceramics, perfume, candles and liquors. Also on offer will be mouthwatering food from stalls such as the amazing Cheshire Pie Company, Anna’s Bakery and Birchwood Pizza.

A chance to begin shopping for Christmas in relaxing surroundings, the Fair is a great seasonal celebration of small businesses and runs from 25 – 26 October, with free entry. (Parkland entry applies).

Myth, Magic and Mystery at the Old Hall

In this ghastly workshop families can have a go at brewing a potion and learn what gruesome ingredients were used for medicines in the past, while exploring the superstitions and traditions associated with Halloween, as well as other spooky myths and legends throughout history. This macabre masterclass takes place at the Old Hall, reputedly one of the most haunted houses in England, on 30 and 31 October, and must be booked online. Be there if you dare!
