Hosted by the National Trust, the Summer of Play invites visitors to explore the historic estate through a rich tapestry of hands-on activities inspired by stories, nature, and adventure.
Highlights include:
- Pride & Prejudice Adventure in the Garden
Step into Jane Austen’s world and reimagine the iconic journey from Netherfield to Meryton. Kids can gallop through the gardens, bringing the story to life with playful energy and imagination. - Make a Splash at the Mill Pond
Enjoy water-based fun and discovery near the Mill Pond, perfect for cooling off and connecting with Lyme’s natural beauty. - Explore the Moorland
Venture out into the expansive moorlands for a wild and wonderful experience in nature. - Shadow Puppets in the House
Inside the historic house, children can play with shadow puppets and learn about Thomas Legh’s adventurous travels through Egypt, sparking creativity and curiosity.
