The Reality Check team of the BBC News informs that in recent years A-level entries in science, technology, engineering and maths (known as STEM subjects) have increased by 15,500, a rise of 6%. Impressive A-level results in all subjects, achieved by students of Withington Girls’ School and Alderley Edge School for Girls, show that young women of Manchester and Cheshire also follow the trend of increased interest in science and mathematics.

The team travelled to the iconic Wembley Stadium for the National Final. Alice Finnie, Alex Bloor, Brooke Richards and Amaya North had created ‘Skyler and Ranger’, a plastic waste fighting duo, to be the new mascot for Ryman.

In addition to his work at SGJS, Mr Wheeler has been the Chair of the Little Princess Trust, since 2011. The charity provides real hair wigs to children and young people with hair loss, and funds vital research into childhood cancer.
For more than a hundred years Alderley Edge Festival has been a delightful event for people in Cheshire. As Maria Rushton, one of the organises of the Festival-2019 said, “There’s an element of competition but this is much more about bringing people together to share their enjoyment of performing.” A lot of local schools embraced an opportunity to join the ‘wonderful culture of music, speech and drama’ and some of the children won top awards during the festival.
