One Bike. Years of Adventures.

When it came to getting a new bike for our seven-year-old daughter, Saffy, we needed something that was built to last, looked great and could cope with more than just the odd ride around the park. After plenty of searching, we settled on the YOMO 20″, and I can honestly say it’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made.

First impressions were brilliant. The bike arrived well packaged and the instructions were refreshingly straightforward. If you’re someone who normally groans at flat-pack assembly, don’t worry – everything was clearly explained and I had it built and ready to ride without any stress.

Girl on a bike in her gardenThen came the important test: Saffy’s verdict. She absolutely loves it. In fact, before she’d even ridden it she was obsessed with the colour. It’s one of those lovely muted shades that looks like it’s come straight out of a Farrow & Ball paint chart. It feels premium without being flashy, and it really stands out from the sea of neon kids’ bikes you usually see. Saffy’s style has always been more about adventure than glitter, so the understated colour and timeless design suit her perfectly. Even better, when it’s eventually passed down to her little brother, Eric, it’ll look just as at home with him too.

Once she got riding, it was obvious this wasn’t just a pretty bike. The chunky tyres immediately give you confidence. They’re wide enough to handle gravel paths, woodland trails and bumpy tracks just as comfortably as they roll along pavements on the school run. It feels incredibly solid and well put together, with none of the rattly or flimsy feel that some children’s bikes can have.

As parents on a budget, we also like buying things that last, and this definitely feels like an investment rather than a purchase you’ll regret in a year’s time. The quality is obvious, and I can already see it surviving years of adventures. Better still, when Saffy eventually grows into the next size, this bike won’t be heading for Facebook Marketplace. It’ll be handed straight down to Eric, which makes the price even easier to justify.

If you’re looking for a children’s bike that’s stylish, beautifully built and ready for everything from family rides around town to muddy weekend adventures, the YOMO bikes for kids well worth considering. It’s made one little girl incredibly happy, and two parents very pleased with their choice.
