July is here, and the school holidays are in full swing – lucky we have plenty of activities to keep children entertained! Festival season is here, so head to Altrincham for a celebration of all things French, or to Tatton Park for an explosion of American culture. For the creative among you, head to the Whitworth Art Gallery in search of treasure! And for a family fun day, why not see what the Cheadle Social Club has to offer.

Lookout, It’s Saturday Playhouse!
A free and weekly art activity for children and their families in our dedicated Lookout space for families. Taster Day – for Year 5 pupils at The King’s School in Macclesfield
This popular event is not to be missed. Year 5 boys and girls have the opportunity to become a Senior School pupil for a day, mix with older students and work with the teachers to experience a variety of activities using fabulous facilities.
The event is truly a highlight in the calendar; the children have a wonderful time as they gain an insight into what being a student at King’s might be like and we enjoy beginning the process of getting to know them. There are range of fun activities and ‘lessons’ to try out, including music, drama, Art, Design & Technology, PE, Science, Maths, Geography, Spanish and more.

Toddler Kiddy Cook
Get your toddler interested in fabulously fresh food with having a trip to Tatton Park’s walled garden to pick your own fruit and vegetables for a delicious seasonal recipe. It’s the best way for children get to see first hand how the food their to plates. These popular sessions will run for 90 minutes as parents and carers help their toddler pick fresh ingredients from Tatton’s Walled Garden to create easy-to-make recipes in the Victorian Still Room.

Foodies Festival
Foodies Festival Festival, the UK’s biggest celebration of food and drink, returns for a food and fun-filled weekend for you to enjoy with family and friends. Known for its spectacular array of culinary activities, visitors to the Foodies Festival can look forward to cookery demonstrations in the Chefs Theatre from Michelin-starred, celebrity and tops chefs, and can feast on flavours from around the world on the Street Food Avenue. Watch baking, patisserie and chocolate experts in the Cake & Bake Theatre and relax with wine, champagne or a cocktail masterclass in the Drinks Theatre. A BBQ Arena offers advice and inspiration on al fresco dining with demonstrations and recipes, and head to the Producers Market where you can browse and sample local produce and chat with experts in the Wine and Cheese Village who will help match this season’s wines with award-winning cheeses. Little Foodies can look forward to the Childrens’ Cookery School where they can discover their taste buds and learn basic cooking skills. Entertainment includes live music from the Entertainment Stage throughout the day, or if you are brave enough, enter the Chilli Eating Competition!

Kiddy Cook
What could be more fun? A trip to the supermarket where you can buy a couple of plastic punnets of under ripe strawberries that are all looks and no substance, or a bucket filled to the brim with fabulous fruit that you’ve picked yourself?
During this July pick and cook workshop children will be picking their own soft fruits to make a seasonal recipe in the Victorian Still Room (a fruit crumble perhaps or maybe a delicious summer pudding)? They’ll also get a tour of the Mansion House with Tatton’s Victorian Housekeeper.

    Chill Factore are running free activities for you to enjoy with your friends and family. Embark on a Snow Trek where you will witness Ski or Snowboard Lessons first hand and see the action unfolding in the exciting Snow Park, before heading off to enjoy a quick go at sledging. You can also enjoy a climb up our 12m climbing wall!

    There will be exciting free activities for everyone, from little ones, to big ones to those new to the slope to those more experienced. From games to give-aways to special guests, and special events there will be more FREE fun than you can ever imagine! The lovable Mini Moose will be there to delight all the children as well as much more fun…But we don’t want to spoil the surprise, so come on down to find out!
