Monsieur le Dot

Mimesis is an arts collective run by David Aldred and Shrikant Subramaniam. And, together with Lulia Togara, a wonderful spoken-word artist, present Monsieur Le Dot, a beautiful French story about longing, friendship and love between an elephant and a boy, both working for a circus in the city of Paris.

What happens when Elsa (the elephant) misses home and decides to go back to Tanzania to meet with her loving family? Does the boy leave the circus and follow her to Tanzania in the pursuit of honouring his true friendship with the elephant.

A choice needs to made by the boy, his livelihood in the circus or his insurmountable affection for Elsa, the beautiful elephant.

Come and discover this story of struggle and resolution through spoken word, song, South Asian dance vocabulary and fascinating soundscapes and Moroccan grooves.

An interdisciplinary performance by Mimesis.
