Navigating Parenthood through the Coronovirus Outbreak

We’re in surreal times, and people are struggling. Being a new parent is stressful enough, but with the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) parents are being forced to consider new, stressful situations. Whether it’s loneliness from self-isolation or not being able to buy baby essentials in the shops, parents all over the world are trying to navigate the unexpected.

The supermarket shelves are empty, delivery slots are difficult to get and more and more parents trying to find alternatives to the baby products that they would normally use. In these times of uncertainty, reusable nappies are becoming the new convenience.

Reusable nappies supplier, Baba+Boo (www.babaandboo.com) started on its business journey with one mission – to help parents live simpler, more sustainable lives, and today is no different. In times of hardship, reusables offer a reliable alternative and help to alleviate some of the pressure on new parents both financially and mentally. That’s why Baba+Boo is taking steps to help offer some calm in these times by taking the time to educate new parents about the benefits of reusables, and offer a safe community where people can talk openly about their concerns.

Eve Bell, founder of Baba+Boo, comments: “There is an apocalyptic feeling in the air right now with COVID-19, yet it doesn’t need to seem so bleak. The habits that we are seeing hark back to a previous era. Being kind to our neighbours, shopping with small and local businesses, slowing down, checking in on people within our community, and using reusable products.

We’re trying our best to steer our way around these uncertain days. We wanted to let all parents know that we’re here for you, and we’re all in this together. Over the last few years, the Baba+Boo tribe has been amazing in offering support to other parents, and in these uncertain times, this is something that’s needed more than ever. We’ll be offering our help and support to parents by donating nappies to those in need, undertaking Q&As and supporting parents during their isolation.”

There will be live Q&As on various social media channels for people to get in touch and ask anything about reusables, and Baba+Boo will also be helping to keep parents calm by sharing advice and best practice throughout the duration of these hard times. They’re also going to donate 3,000 nappies to local and international baby banks.
