National Netball Success for The Grange School as £7 million Sports Centre Arrives

It didn’t take long for the first students to make use of the impressive new £7 million Sports Centre as The Grange School hosted the ‘Sisters and Sport‘ national netball finals.

The occasion was topped off when The Grange’s Under 11 team, who had qualified for the finals, won their match. The Grange girls played some excellent counter-attacking netball which they combined with some accurate and calm finishing to build a seven goal lead. Opponents, Putney High School, came back strong in the fourth quarter but The Grange held their nerve throughout and when the final buzzer went, looking up at the new scoreboard, it read Grange 24-21 Putney.

The Grange Sports Centre has been built to provide students and the community with a vast array of sport and fitness opportunities. The pinnacle of the building is the large, breath-taking, multi-purpose Sports Hall. You cannot help but notice the impressive climbing wall also in the Sports Hall – with its additional overhangs, it will definitely test ambitious climbers. For those looking to improve their fitness there is a Gym with the latest equipment, and a spacious Dance Studio that can accommodate for all types of dance, from ballet to street.
