Poppies Wins Cheshire East’s Early Help Diamond Award.

Knutsford’s much loved Poppies is the only day nursery to have received one of Cheshire East Council’s coveted Early Help Diamond Awards. The awards recognise individuals and organisations who go above and beyond to make a difference supporting young children and families. It celebrates the work of those who have made and continue to make a huge difference to many residents in the borough.

Winner of the educational settings category, Poppies was nominated by parents at the nursery for supporting children’s well-being and emotions, critical as they returned to nursery after the pandemic, and for distributing learning resources during lockdown. They were also nominated by members of the public, for community support including random acts of kindness, such as delivering flowers, and making foodbank donations.

Speaking to all the Diamond winners at the awards, Councillor Kathryn Flavell, lead member for children and families at Cheshire East Council said “The total commitment to make a difference to other people really shone through. Thank you for all you do to support local families. We need you more than you know.
