Family Friendly February @ Z-arts

A purr-fect new interactive exhibition and an intergalactic half-term adventure arrive at Z-arts this February!

It’s a fun-packed February at Z-arts with the launch of their brand-new interactive exhibition and the North West premiere of a brand-new family show by the award-winning Inua Ellams!

In its only outing outside of London, The Tiger Who Came to Tea and The Adventures of Mog the Forgetful Cat is the latest exhibition designed and created by Discover Children’s Story Centre, Stratford and follows on from the sell-out success of A World Inside a Book: Gruffalos, Dragons and Other Creatures.

The exhibition will open at Z-arts with a special launch weekend on February 8 and 9 and run until December 2020. Featuring work from fourteen of Judith Kerr’s books, with myriad worlds to explore, this interactive exhibition will enchant booklovers young and old as they experience exciting new spaces to play in and explore. Children and their grown-ups can join The Tiger for tea and hear the tale of his surprise visit to Sophie and her mummy. Open the door and take a trip into the real-life world of Mog the Forgetful Cat. Crawl through a giant cat flap and find Mog’s family house. Look for the hidden eggs for her breakfast. Explore her garden – but watch out for the mousedogbird! Pick up your groceries at Mog’s local shops, settle down with a story at the bookshop, and help Mog and her friends get better at the V.E.T.

Immersive exhibition at Z-arts

The Tiger Who Came to Tea and The Adventures of Mog the Forgetful Cat is the UK’s first immersive exhibition of the work of Judith Kerr and is suitable for ages 0-8 years and their grown-ups.

The Little Prince (Thursday 20 – Saturday 22 February) is the first work for children by Inua Ellams, award-winning playwright of The Barbershop Chronicles (★★★★★ ‘Joyous. Life-affirming. Go!’ The Independent | ★★★★ ‘Remarkable.’ The Observer | ★★★★ ‘Hugely fun.’ Time Out). His magical retelling of the much-loved story by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry sees the Little Prince descend from an African race in a parallel galaxy. He travels across time and space seeking help to bring peace to his warring planet. His journey as a galactic emigrant addresses climate change, morality, taking audiences through solar systems of odd planets with strange beings, showing how even a little thing can make a big difference.

Join Z-arts for this electric new show from Fuel Theatre, which takes the timeless story that has been enchanting children for decades and gives it a modern spin, adapting it for the stage whilst maintaining the soul of the original beautiful book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
