Thriving Football Club Scores New Kits

Over the last five years, Queensgate FC has grown their girls’ only academy from one team to six.

Committee member and coach Rob Clare said: “We’ve expanded the girl’s side of Queensgate FC to meet the demand we’ve seen from girls who want to play football.” The club’s players have recently been kitted out with the help of a donation from Redrow’s Woodford community fund.

Emily Carey, area sales manager for Redrow NW, said: “It’s great that Queensgate FC has expanded the girl’s side of their club so more girls have the opportunity to play a sport they love. We’re really pleased we’ve been able to help out with the kits so the girls really look the part when they play matches.

The girls’ academy welcomes players from age five upwards, with teams ranging from under 8s to under 15s. They train at Club Cheadle Hulme and Club Laurus and play matches at local central venues in the Cheshire Girls League, as well as Woodford Recreational Ground.

Places are currently available in the Queensgate FC dedicated girls-only academy. Girls are welcome from Reception, Year 1, and Year 2.
