Lillicorn Project by QuestFriendz

STEM skills (Science Technology Engineering Maths) are increasingly important in our children’s education, for both boys and girls, and our world depends more and more on STEM capabilities. Gaining confidence in these areas is key from a young age. That’s why STEM educational company QuestFriendz is launching Lillicorn, a new learning project and picture book series specially designed to promote STEM skills in young children through puzzles, play and fun.

QuestFriendz founders Lisa Moss and Dr Thomas Bernard have many years’ experience in technology and education between them but were inspired to create the Lillicorn series following the birth of their twin daughters. Lisa says: “Learning the 4Cs – critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and communication – from a young age is key as a longer term, systematic approach to address the STEM skills gap. Addressing young children allows us to harness their curiosity, that magical state of mind that accelerates learning including STEM learning. With the introduction of problem-solving skills from a young age, children are better equipped to face our fast-paced changing world.”

Download these Lillicorn activity sheets, created specially for Mums&Dads magazine by QuestFriendz. They’re great fun for children, while also introducing concepts of pattern recognition, problem solving and sequencing – all key STEM skills.
