Bargain Edit: Great Deals on Beautiful Clothes for Kids

An online children’s boutique, with an office in Altrincham, Bargain Edit, specialises in designer clothing at discount prices, a motto which is just the right fit for any stylish family. We asked one local mum of a trendy toddler to write this reader’s review.
M&D

bargainedit.com is a new, independent online business set up by mum, Anna, with a plan to make designer kids and baby clothing accessible to all; featuring clothes from brands such as Happyology, Nod London, Lennie & Co, and more.

Their website is fresh and easy to navigate and you can search by size range or brand. I searched clothes by size as I go for styles over brands, so this way I could see everything on offer that would fit my daughter. Funnily enough, the clothes I chose were all from Happyology – I guess that’s just my style! Happyology is retro and just on the right side of classic (think Mary Poppins meets JoJo). Another brand on the website – Tobias and the Bear – also has some super cute clobber, I just need to keep an eye out for items in my daughter’s size.

It can be tricky to work out what size to buy (we have a 17 month old girl who is getting so big I’m sure we’ll soon be able to swap jumpers) so for the warmer items I went for slightly bigger sizes. When things arrive a little big, I just roll up sleeves for the time being – a few weeks down the line and they look made to measure! Based on my approach, I would say the sizes shown on BE are accurate.

Toddler Wearing Happyology Baby Girls Pallene Embroidery Teal Dress
My husband and I are not fans of ultra girly clothing for our toddler and tend to dress her in a mix of ‘boys’ and ‘girls’ clothes to make a style of her own. I was so pleased to find items from Bargain Edit that were feminine without being overly girly – such as the embroidered teal dress and the folksy blouse. Happyology Baby Girls Pink Stitch Shirt and Toddler Wearing this ShirtThe style reminded me of Rachel Riley’s clothesline – the ones worn by Princess Charlotte and Prince George – which we saw (but couldn’t afford) at the flagship store in Marylebone on a pre-lockdown trip to London.

The sunshine sailor t-shirt is adorable and perfect for both play and a trip to grandma’s house; I team it with leggings and a hairband.

The brown and white checked trouser suit is definitely something you won’t find in your standard baby cloth range – I love it! Child in Happyology's Brown Check Pontil Trousers and Brown Check Plume acket The trousers were a little long (our daughter needs more room in the waist than the leg) so I hope they will fit for spring, when hopefully we’ll have the opportunity to show it off…

My favourite piece is the brown Merino wool cardigan – it’s versatile and will go with lots of other things, plus it keeps her nice and snuggly as the days begin to get cooler. I probably won’t send her to nursery in it (or anything from Bargain Edit!) for fear of it getting covered in paint/glue/food/mud so this will all be kept for Sunday best.

There is something for all sizes and tastes at Bargain Edit and, as the name suggests, check it out and pick yourself a bargain!

These clothes are lovely. I especially like that they have colour options other than pink for girls.
