A Song for the Headteacher

Mrs Helen Rigby, who has been the Head Teacher at Wilmslow Preparatory School since 2014, is saying goodbye to the children and staff of the school. The new Head Mr Lavagna-Slater will replace her from September 2020 as the ninth Head of the school.

Helen has been part of Wilmslow Prep for nearly 20 years. To celebrate her time as a Headtheacher of the school, children and teachers came together (mostly virtually) to create this memorable gift. The song chosen for Helen is called ‘What Makes a Family’ by Al Start.

Sharon Davis, school bursar, explains, “We always call WPS an extended family so it seemed a perfect choice! Staff and pupils had to record their involvement either at school or at home, in these strange lockdown times, and our fabulous music teacher, Mrs Wolski, co-ordinated it all with technical help from her talented son to create the video. It was all kept a complete secret from Mrs Rigby until we shared it via the online video we used at Speech Day.
