Withington Girls’ School – Experience a Morning at the Junior School

The best way to experience the full benefit of a Withington education is for your daughter to attend a taster session. For the first time in 2022, the school is providing the opportunity for girls whose parents are interested in entry to Junior School in Year 3, to join a Taster Morning on Thursday 6th October.

Spaces are limited for this introductory event and girls who attend will spend a morning with two Year 3 teachers, engaging in some fun lessons and activities. Your daughters will get a taste of a typical Year 3 day at Withington, which will include physical activity, creative experiences and opportunities to allow them to demonstrate their thinking and learning skills.

Extra-curricular workshop at school
WGS Junior School is a thriving place which retains its individual character whilst benefiting from close links with the Senior School. Pupils in Years 3 to 6 enjoy the best of both worlds – a wonderful experience in their spacious, purpose-built Junior School, taught by their own Form Teacher with specialist lessons led by Senior School staff in Senior School facilities. Junior pupils also benefit enormously from contact with Senior pupils, who act as peer supporters, monitors and club leaders. In this lively, creative environment, well-structured but warm and friendly, Withington pupils flourish and grow into balanced, happy, confident young people.

A dynamic extra-curricular programme in the Junior School means there is something for everyone with a great variety of cultural experiences, sport, outdoor education, trips and an exciting range of visiting speakers, authors, poets and drama workshops.

Every Junior School pupil participates in the musicals and plays that punctuate the school year. Previous productions have included The Lion King Jr, Olivia!, Peter Pan and, in 2022, Matilda The Musical Jr.
