Celebrations and smiles at King’s on A Level Results Day

Students receiving their A-level results at King’s were celebrating with their parents and teachers as they reaped the rewards of their hard work with excellent results.

Sixth Form students achieved a stunning set of grades and now move on to the next chapter of their learning journey. This wonderful group of young adults achieved around half of all grades at A*/A and more than three quarters at A* – B grade.

Pictured above are Robb Thomas (left), who is a grade 6 drummer and achieved A*A*A*A* and is off to Manchester University to study Computer Science, and Will Gandy (right) who achieved A*A*A* and is joining Oxford University to study German & Russian. The grade 8 violin and piano player also took on lead roles in the school drama productions and is looking forward to embracing all that Oxford University has to offer before a career in international relations.
A total of 20 students achieved all A* or A grades and over a third of students achieved an A* in one subject or more.
King’s Head, Mr Jason Slack, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled with this excellent set of results for A levels and other qualifications. This cohort have worked exceptionally hard and thoroughly deserve their success. Our school aim of ‘challenging pupils to aspire, work hard and achieve’ is well represented by this determined and talented group of young people.”

He adds: “They have also demonstrated our holistic approach to education by developing broader skills such as leadership, resilience and independence whilst fully participating in the wider life of the school in terms of music, sports, performing and creative arts. I look forward to hearing of their success in the future. I couldn’t be more proud of them.”

Miss Donna Jestin, Principal of King’s Sixth Form, adds: “Exciting new chapters and new beginnings await this fantastic group of students, who have been a pleasure to teach. They are off to study a varied range of courses from Graphic Design and Medicine to Law and Zoology, alongside those joining apprenticeship schemes and taking gap years – we wish them all the best of luck!”
