What’s in Store for Giddy Goat Toys?

Having just returned from this year’s buying extravaganza at the London Toy Fair I’m pleased to report that lots of fantastic new toys will be hitting our shelves this spring, summer, autumn and winter. There were lots of lovely new products on display that will sit alongside and complement our existing product ranges and we’re hoping customers new and old will love them as much as we do.

As always the difficulty is in choosing which products to buy, my favourite new product was probably a gorgeous Bagpuss plush cat which yawned exactly as I remember Bagpuss did and even though today’s children and parents are unlikely to have seen Bagpuss on TV the toy itself was lovely enough for it to appeal to all ages.

BagpussIn choosing what to stock we do indulge ourselves a little bit with choosing things we like, but, more importantly we consider what our customers will want. We know that our customers want toys that are either educational or entertaining, with lots of play value and that are value for money, or that can be given as presents so look like attractive and thoughtful gifts.

We have ordered some lovely new role play and construction sets for young children which will complement the toys in our baby and toddler room in encouraging fine motor skills and manual dexterity. The Galt Pop Up Toy is a consistent best seller and we’ve ordered a cute wooden Stacking Flower set from Galt which will be perfect for little hands to stack together assisting hand eye co-ordination. We’ve also ordered new toys for our wooden role play toys section. Role play encourages children to develop creative imaginations as well as social skills and as most of our toys are made from FSC certified wood they are also environmentally friendly plus long lasting and attractive. For older children we have a great selection of puzzles and games by Orchard Toys and I was pleased to see some lovely new products by them. Linked to the National Curriculum’s Learning Objectives they build upon the core skills children are learning at school whilst being fun to play and they’re a firm favourite with our customers plus are perfectly priced for party presents as we know how many parties children get invited to.

LegoAs ever Lego have some amazing new sets out this year and of course Lego is great for both keeping children entertained whilst also encouraging their imaginations and artistic abilities. Similarly, our range of Arts & Crafts sets are brilliant for that and we have ordered in lots of exciting looking sets from Djeco, Jura and Galt.

Of course this year more than ever we’re mindful of the financial issues facing our customers as energy and food in particular has increased so much so we have done our best to source things that are affordable and value for money – most of our products are priced at under £20 and we have a great range of pocket money toys for those Friday night treats or for children to spend their pocket money on.

Amanda and BlueyCome on down to our Didsbury shop to see what’s in store, or if you can’t get to our shop then you can shop online. All our toys are on our website and you can buy online with delivery for just £2.95 – we’re here to make life easier for you and to help educate and entertain the children in your life.

Hope to see you soon!!
