family day out

Day Out with Thomas™

Day Out with Thomas is heading to the East Lancashire Railway for an exciting day out you won’t want to miss! Thomas the Tank Engine is coming to town for a limited time only and fans will be able to hop on board on 30 April, 1 – 2 May, 6 – 7 August and 1 – 2 October 2022.

Day Out with Thomas is a fun-filled event for families and friends hosted by the number one engine himself. Every ticket includes a train ride with a life-sized Thomas the Tank Engine, a real steam engine, as well as access to lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Families are encouraged to ride, play and stay all day, so there is plenty to do. Every ticket includes a 30-minute train ride with Thomas the Tank Engine himself and an opportunity to say ‘hello!’ to Sir Topham Hatt, who will be patrolling the platform, making sure everyone is on their best behaviour.

Bury Transport Museum access is also included in the price, where there will be live entertainment and activities throughout the day. Join a sing along with Sodor’s cheeky station sweepers Rusty and Dusty, who will be putting on regular shows throughout the event. Enjoy fun fair rides, take in a trick or two by a magician, get your face painted or visit an expert balloon modeller.

There will also be Thomas themed activities, such as tabletop games, stories and colouring.

Every child receives a keepsake Passport to Adventure to track their journey at the event and there will be a pop-up gift shop on-site offering a wide range of Thomas & Friends products for fans of all ages. If you need fuelling up on the day, food and drinks are available on-site for purchase.

Kids should never miss out on the opportunity to wonder at the feats of engineering excellence that the steam trains exhibit. And we all love a bit of Thomas
