Haunted Halloween 2019

It’s that spooky time of year again! As Halloween rolls back round, we’ve got you and the kids covered with all sorts of fiendishly fun family-friendly events. And for all things non-ghoulish why not check out our October Events Guide too. As usual we’ve got plenty of tricks and treats to keep both parents and children happy this autumn.

Halloween Spooktacular
Come to the farm for the last annual Halloween Spooktacular, a fun and non-scary event for younger children over half term. Barrel train, bouncy castle, inflatable slide, jungle run, climbing wall and more. Daily fancy dress parade starts at circa 2pm.
No need to pre-book, just turn up any day it is open. Activities are completely separate to pumpkin picking – you can do either or both.
Price: 4 Yrs+ – £9.95, 2-3 Yrs – £4.95, under 2’s or adult are free.

Pumpkin Carving
Come for a session of slightly messy and fun creativity. Carve the most frightening faces in your very own pumpkin – or whatever you want! – and take it home to keep the ghouls away.
Pumpkins, equipment and templates provided, just bring yourselves and your imagination.
Price: £5.50 per child (pumpkin included), accompanying adults will need to stay and supervise, but do not need a ticket.

Wizard Academy
Come for interactive adventure to attend the Wizard Academy at the East Lancashire Railway. Join a magical cast of wacky warlocks and wild witches on a steam train ride, during which you will take part in themed activities and complete the story.

Fright Run, Afternoon 2km event
Are you brave enough to face the spooks and monsters to compete a Hallowe’en run? Come and join the Hallowe’en fun run around the park (fancy dress is a must!)
This afternoon event is perfect for families and children, featuring a 2km run and some creepy challenges to be overcome!

Children with pumpkins at Tatton ParkFamily ‘Pick a Pumpkin’ at Tatton Park
You’ll choose your own pumpkin, fresh from the field, so prepare to get your hands dirty! Get to new recipe room for a refreshing pumpkin juice and a yummy pumpkin muffin and learn how to create a warming pumpkin soup – all the the recipes will be provided too so you can make these delicious dishes back at home. You’re welcome to take your pumpkin home with you ready to carve for Halloween.

Halloween in the City
Manchester celebrates in style with spooky street decorations, thousands of pumpkin lanterns glowing in the trees, mind-bending inflatable monsters invading the roofs and iconic city buildings turn a ghoulish green including the Town Hall, Manchester Central, National Football Museum, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols. You could visit Dr Mancenstein’s Mad Science Castle, join Grimm Rita’s Creepy Carnival along New Cathedral Street, follow a terrifying Trick or Treat Trail, for a meet and greet with (friendly) witches, vampires and mummies, join The Face of Halloween makeup contest, and a very special collaboration with MMU on a magical live action role-play game for families.

The Great Wizard’s Gathering at the Old Hall
Calling all magical beings! Arch-wizard Fumblefoot has a mission for you – conjure, cast magic, fight off a dragon attack and save the world from a fiery future!
Your 2 hour adventure will take place at the Old Hall – all that is left of a medieval Kids in Halloween costumes at Tatton's Old Hall village of honest working folk, razed to the ground by dragons! Mix up a potion, invoke ancient spirits and meet a whole host of spooky characters whilst exploring the grounds.
Price: £10, adults required to have tickets, under 12mnth are free.

Spooky Pooch Show at Spinningfields

The Pumpkin Patch at Tatton Park
Come down to the Farm to meet all your Farm yard favourites and then it’s off Pumpkin patch in the greenhouse at Tatton Park in search of the perfect pumpkin. You’ll choose your own pumpkin, fresh from the field, so prepare to get your hands dirty! Once you’ve picked the perfect pumpkin, you’re welcome to take your pumpkin home with you ready to carve for Halloween.

Halloween Ghost Trains
An evil curse has taken hold of the East Lancashire Railway’s Halloween Ghost Trains Ghost train at the East Lancashire Railway and only a highly trained team of haunters can hope to break its grasp! Join the railway’s dream scream team and help to solve the mystery of the golden leg… if you dare!
Come in your best fancy dress, meet Horrible Heroes, chilling vampires, scary ghouls. Plus every child receives a Halloween goody bag with tricks and treats.
Train ride is approximately 90 minutes.
