Christmas is such a special time of year and we all want our houses to look beautiful and welcoming. Entertaining and sitting down to eat with family & friends is one of the most enjoyable elements of Christmas. However, if you are anything like us then you will have accumulated all sorts over the years, from the sentimental decorations brought home from the children’s nursery to the snowman candles! Here at nest we think that this is the year to start afresh, chuck out the tat and make your Christmas table fabulous!

We have sourced a few contemporary ideas to give you one less thing to do this December.

Nothing says cosy and magical like candle-light. Line up these ceramic houses along a dining table/sideboard/window sill and fill with tea-lights to give a lovely twinkly light through the cut out snowflakes. For a grown-up centrepiece on NY Eve, this brass candleholder would look perfect.

The little details set a festive table apart from a standard Sunday lunch. Fill little bags with treats for guests large and small, pop a merry stopper in the wine bottle and wrap a bright napkin in these gold leaf rings for the inevitable spillages.

No Christmas table is complete without crackers. Filled to the brim with the requisite hats, jokes & gifts, these will also look fun and stylish.

Finally, for when the guests start to drive you a little crazy, pour yourself a little tipple of Festive Spirit.

If you would like a new interior for the New Year then nest would be happy to offer all M&D readers 10% off Design Board fees, please just get in touch and quote M&D Winter. An hour’s initial consultation is always free of charge.

Merry Christmas!
