M&D Turns Twenty!

Summer 2023 edition of the magazine is out now.
We’re celebrating M&D’s twenties birthday this year!

Summer 2003 – my daughter just started nursery and I decided to start a little project in my new role as a parent using my previous experience in publishing. Just for a couple of years and then back to a busy corporate life, I thought. But the return to a pre-parenting life never happened. Does it ever? And after all, why would I stop doing something that I love doing?

Twenty years on M&D Magazine is still ticking along and I still enjoy running it. My daughter finished nursery, primary school, big school, and uni, and is now working in publishing herself. Would you like to know what happened to the other kids who appeared in the issues which we published in the first year of the magazine’s existence? We got curious too and managed to get some info about the lives of our ‘celebrities’ . It was heart-warming talking to their parents and learning that for some of them, the magazine is now useful for looking after the grandchildren.

Long-term relationships are what make us really proud. With our readers, who contact us with their updates, questions and suggestions; with our advertisers, some of whom we’ve been promoting since our inception; with our distributers, who nag us if the magazine is not delivered on time. We are grateful to you all and we wouldn’t be here without you.

To reassure our readers – this edition is not all about our Big Birthday. There are plenty of tips for parents who are planning to travel this summer and for those who are worried about the nursery-to-school transition in September. The Events Watch is full of useful information as always. And if you’re still undecided about Father’s Day gifts read on and be quick – it’s June already.
