Family fun at Waterside in Sale – Easter and beyond

Waterside LogoIt’s almost time for another school holiday! But don’t worry, at Waterside they’ve got Easter family events and shows all throughout April to keep the little and bigger ones entertained.

The school holiday kicks off with a family film screening of the brilliantly entertaining Sing! (2016) – so if the kids have just broken up for school or your looking for activities for your tiny tots, this is perfect for all ages.

On Easter Saturday (31 March) we present the wonderful Little Angel Theatre’s Red Riding Hood – a new spin on the classic fairy tale. Robyn starts to read the classic fairy tale and, frustrated with the story, she begins to tell her own version, featuring her beloved wolf at its heart and told from his perspective. He’s not big, bad or scary – he’s an all-round nice guy. And Red Riding Hood is not what she seems. The play is suitable for ages 7 and above and there are performances at 11:30 and 14:30.

On Tuesday 3 April at 14:30 we present a fabulous re-telling of The Sagas of Noggin The Nog, based on the original stories and films by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin. A company of rather English Vikings tells a story in live action, with puppetry, live music and projection of clips from the original films in this delightfully different theatre show for families and Noggin the Nog fans. The show consists of two 35-minute stories with an interval in the middle.

Family Rave - Waterside’s ultimate family partyIf you’re looking for something a bit different this Easter, Waterside’s popular Family Rave on Friday 13 April is one to add to the list. Back by popular demand, DJ Duncacinno will take you back to the 90s and noughties for the ultimate family party!

Looking beyond the Easter holidays the fun continues throughout April and into May. With two film screenings on Saturday 21 April (including The Boss Baby and the return of Sing-A-Long Trolls, after last year’s sell out screenings) plus our ever-popular ComedySportz – both for tots and older kids – on Saturday 28 April, there’s plenty to look forward to for families.
